NOTE: I'm not too interested in the contest as I am in the pitch idea, so please feel free to throw in helpful suggestions to help make this worth sending to the folks at Blizzard.

PURPOSE: To teach fledgling Raiders the fundamentals of raiding while providing certain acheivements to entice higher level raiders to participate. I thought this up in a 10 man raid setting. Please feel free to elaborate on a 25 man scale.

PREMISE: A Crystal of immense power was found in "Enter Location." It is said to contain a mighty evil and only the bravest of adventurers should enter the crystal to destroy the evil that lies within.

LOCATION: Put a giant red crystal somewhere and make it clickable, upon clicking it you will be transported to the encounter.

THE ROOM: The room you transport into is a giant triangle, with 3 colored circles on each respective point of the triangle (the boss will sit at the top), every raid member should note where the circles are because they will play an integral part in the encounter. Also, splitting the triangle in half is a noticeable change in the floor layout (so nubs will know the left side from the right).

THE FIGHT: This instance was designed to have one boss with 3 Loots. The fight itself is broken into 3 phases, like most raid encounters are. The encounter will start when the Boss is pulled and I need help with a good HP level.

THE BOSS: The Boss should be modeled after a Stone Giant, but instead of Blue, use Red and give him one hell of a wicked Axe. I don't have a name, so please advise. He has 3 buffs, one for Attack, Melee Defense and Spell Resistance respectively. Without his buffs he hits hard enough to provide healers a challenge, but not so hard that if you screw up it will wipe you. Conversly, if you leave the buffs on, he will be right up there with Ulduar 10 man and Eye of Eternity 25 man bosses. The idea behind this is to make him hard to burn down and entice the raid group do take half melee DPS and half Spell DPS.

PHASE 1: This phase is designed to teach tanks how to pull aggro off other tanks, it also keeps the healers and DPS on the move. Once the boss is aggroed, one of the triangles will light up, the boss needs to be tanked in the circle because it will debuff 1 of his 3 buffs otherwise he will retain all 3 of his Bonuses. after 45 secs of being tanked in one spot, an emote will show when a new circle will light up about 10 secs of reaction time. When the new circle pops, the boss will proc a 15 sec stun to everything within 20 ft so your Off Tank needs to pull aggro to the new circle immediately. This will teach DPS to watch for emotes and to move away. This also teaches Off Tanks as well as their designated healer to be elsewhere and ready to pull the mob off the Main Tank until the stun wears off. Do this 3 times or until the boss hits 60% to enter phase 2.

PHASE 2: Simple Tank and Spank, recieving all 3 debuffs or 60% HP, the Boss will move to the top (or North) of the triangle and commence to spawn waves of adds at either the South West or South East circles. The MT will Tank and Spank while the OT will run around and grab each respective wave. Each Wave will consist of 1 tank like mob, 1 Healer and 3 DPS. The mobs if not aggroed will reach the Main Boss, the healer will sacrifice itself and heal him for 10% of his max health, if he heals past 60% he starts phase 1 over. This teaches the DPS to not just focus on burning the Main Boss, but to kill adds first and then return to the main boss when they have been dealt with. Each Wave will be 1 minute apart. That should give ample time to kill adds and then DPS the Main Boss. Phase 3 starts when the boss reaches 30% HP.

PHASE 3: This phase is an emote phase with little focus on DPS, range DPS should be able to ping the mob, but the intent is to make everyone watch for emotes. The boss will become perma-rooted, immune to physical damage and his axe will begin to glow. An Emote will Flash on the Screen stating that his "Gaze is set on (either the South East or South West) Corner" of the triangle. Everyone in the raid needs to move to the opposite circle or be insta-killed for failure to move (like in Naxx). After doing this he will emote again that he "Sets his sights on "Raid Member!" and then on that raid members screen an emote will say "Raid Member" you must FLEE!" When this happens, the named raid member will have to run to the opposite circle away from the raid, or be hit by a 16k DD spell that AOE's anyone near that character for same said damage. The boss will randomly emote between these two emotes until 2-3 minutes have passed or he reaches 20% where he switches back to phase 2.

FINALE: The Boss will go back to phase 2 and can be burned down, while killing the waves of mobs he spawns.

ACHEIVEMENTS: While the regular event itself will yield 3 pieces of 200 gear that will help get raiders ready for Naxx and EoE, this encounter should also come with ways of triggering hard mode. Feel free to throw ideas on this.

BUT I CAN LIFT HEAVY THINGS!: Defeat this encounter without debuffing the boss at all. "Reward" one of the 3 items dropped will be item level 226.

LIKE PEAS IN A POD: Defeat this encounter without anyone FLEEing the raid group. "Reward" one of the 3 items dropped will be item level 226.

WE PLAY FOR KEEPS!: Defeat this encounter without killing the adds he spawns. "Reward" one of the 3 items dropped will be item level 226.

HAVE IT YOUR WAY: Defeat this encounter without debuffing, FLEEing or killing adds. "Reward" one of the 3 items dropped will be a 300% Flying Mount.
"Question is, what kind of a mount should it be, my vote is a gargoyle."
